Lost Bookmarks

I "lost" my Netscape (v 7.1) Bookmarks. They just disappeared. Very disappointing.
Anyone know if there’s any way to retrieve them?

Hi Gordy

Not sure about netscape but i have had things disappear on other programs. One thing that you could try is to restore all deleted items in your trash can to their original location at worst you will end up with a heap of files that you don’t want. However you need to be careful if the computer warns you that you will be overriding files or folders. If this happens you may replace some documents with earlier drafts. One of the possible answers would be to create a new folder, save the contents of your trashcan to that folder. Then you could restore without any replacement of files and still have a copy of the trash if you need to go further with the restoration. If you use netscape as your mail server it would be worth backing up contacts and emails prior to restoration. I ll check out a few place on the web and see if can come up with alternatives that you could try.

Ill get back to you soon

Netscape stores all of them together in one single HTML file called BOOKMARK.HTM.

Try
<copy> BOOKMARK.HTM.
<Start>
<Search>
<Files and folders>
<paste>
<search>

let me know what you find
