I have a Link 5000 by Datamarine in which the Depth Sounder is stuck on ' Fault o4 Feet'. What is the problem and what do I have to do to fix?

The transducer is either not working or the signal is not getting out/in.

How old is the system or better yet has transducer ever been replaced. Mine is from 1976 and I had to get a new transducer.

Data Marine Link 5000
Is there anyone who might be able to scan or let me photo copy the manual for a DataMarine Link 5000 mine is working perfectly but I am sure that I am missing some utility by not knowing how to use it to the fullest. I have the remote station which shows a lot of functions upon startup that I would love to be able to use
Thanks in advance
Vince

Link 5000 Datamarine
My depth sounder gives a continueous reading of 5.1 or 5.2. A portable transducer was used to test it and the unit then worked OK. I was advised to change the cable RCA plug and have done so twice without any improvement. Bottom was painted three months ago and transducer paint applied to protect it so I doubt barnacles are the problem. Lately it has been giving a series of false alarm warnings upon startup for about five minutes and then settles down and works fine.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Datamarine wind
If it helps the windspeed/direction transducers are the same for the original Datamarine LX360 and on up through the 5000. They were designed about 30 years ago and are still one of the most viable, rugged and accurate units available today. They were expensive to make compared to the competition.

I also have the 04 Fault message but only at the panel at my helm station. The main unit at my electrical panel works fine. But, in addition I get a buzzer, the wind direction indicator spins (on the instrument, not at the mast head) and the speed indicator shows similarly nonsensical information. Have you gotten any info on your problem?

Check for loose or flaky connection coming into the instrument. The BNC connectors tend to get a little corroded over the years.
