Boat: We own Aditi, a Endurance 35 ketch with a ferrocement hull (to LLoyds A1) and teak deck

Leica MK5 (converted to GPS) question
Dear readers,

I have above mentioned unit. It displays position correct but that is all it does. Every few seconds the display states "no serial number" and non of the functions work. Does anyone know what I can do to get this unit working again?
Any help is welcome.
