iPad and iPhone mounting bracket

I've searched the forum without success for any recommendations for a waterproof case and mounting bracket for an iPhone and iPad. Ideally the system should use the same rail fitting so that either phone or iPad can be used. Our chart plotter is at the chart table and it's nice to have some sort of device in the cockpit. Both of us have iNavx on our devices which is really handy as a back up. Any experience with mounting systems would be much appreciated. Thanks.

We use a "SeaSucker I-Pad" mount..it mounts almost anywhere, does not come off until you are ready to move it.....very versatile!

We also purchased a couple of "extensions", we can then mount the I-Pad on our cockpit seating....I can view it at the helm, and the Admiral can swing it around to verify I'm going exactly where I'm told to....

Don't know about a waterproof case for an iPad, but for mounting phones/tablets I use RAM mounts: http://www.rammount.com

We use a case which clips in to a another plastic section which we attached to oir helm using old stainless brackets.

We had to use a little butyl tape to stop it sliding around.

The ipad really is useless as a helm device. It's fine down below. It's a power hog, unreadable in sunlight and the apps available aren't what I'd consider suitable for a safety and mission critical location such as the helm.

We're only using it until we build our new helm and replace all the old instrumentation with a full suite of B&G kit.
