Internet at sea

I will be on a offshore fishing trip for a week and need to have access to wi-fi for email and text. Any suggestions, device and service to purchase will be appreciated.
Thanks
Jack

Re: Internet at sea

Assuming you are not going to the poles you can use Inmarsat geopositioned satellites rather than Iridium swarm satellites, which are a bit more expensive. The second question is your very temporary need, so you don't want a permanent installation that would supply you more service, but a a whopping cost. Check in with

https://www.satphonestore.com/tech-b...BoC1DsQAvD_BwE

and see if they have a portable unit that meets your minimum voice/text/email needs.

Re: Internet at sea

looks like the only solution is Iridium Go
must use Iridium app for text and email…not ideal but will have to do
thanks

Re: Internet at sea

I would think SatPhone rentals would be a dime a dozen. I once checked for cell phone rentals and there were many locations available. SatPhone shouldn't be that difficult. Just need to do some rabbit-hole research.
