Insta-trim (boat leveller conundrum)

Hi All,

I have a little issue. My boat has an insta-trim (boat leveller co) trim system installed. As part of the refit I need to replace the button with a new unit. Unfortunately there is no longer a distributor for insta-trim here in Australia. Insta trim wants to charge me $200 US to ship a switch here which is highway robbery as far as Im concerned. The switch and new wiring will already cost $140 US which I think is also steep but Im willing to pay for quality where required.

https://insta-trim.com/shop/one-set-...or-fly-bridge/

Can anyone point me to a reseller that might ship to Melbourne AU for a reasonable price?

PS. Im also trying to get a waterproof overfed this switch.

PPS. I've tried contacting insta-trim multiple times but have never heard back from them. First time I put it down to COVID related issues but after the second I just figured they didn't need/want my custom.

It’s a marine grade boat product. They going to charge more. Just looks like a simple double throw rocker switch. Momentary on -off-momentary on

Might get lucky and find a matching switch

200 bucks to ship is robbery, I would have thought maybe 50

Yeah I thought $50-$80 would be reasonable for such a small item. I’ve shipped items from the states many times before and never paid anything like that for such a small item.

Do have a really good time exploring the McMaster-Carr catalog of available switches:

https://www.mcmaster.com/waterproof-switches/

If i turns out that they will not ship to Oz, do tell me so I don't recommend that same course, uselessly, to someone else in need.

If anyone is interested in posting this damn thing to me from the states can they please contact me via PM? Happy to pay for your time just need to get this switch. This is the fourth time I've contacted https://insta-trim.com without a reply.

Thanks in advance.

You might have a look to see if Bennett's comparable switches could be used instead. And then maybe Bennett parts are available in Oz, or maybe they'll ship to Oz...

Thanks for the suggestion but I’d prefer to go with OEM part as I know it works and I know it’s fits existing location.
