inreach explorer

I am about to purchase a inreach explorer satellite communicator, any sailors that have used one I would appreciate your thoughts.

It one of the most amazing pieces of equipment I own. I have only used it sparingly on a boat, but it has worked phenominal on other land based travels. It does need a clear line of site and doesn't work well in a city environment. In the country, it worked perfectly even when sitting on the dash of a car (travelling around Cuba).

I will be using it in 3 weeks on a boat trip.

One peice of advice, look on Craigslist, Kijiji or Ebay. People buy them for a specific trip and then sell them. I picked up and Inreach SE for $100cdn.

Like i said, it works as expected.. On our first trip we sent and received over 3000 messages with it.
