I know I am coming to the party late and without horderves, but a low tech test is to
purchase an fluorescent light bulb and tape it to the wire at the output of the tuner. If there is RF present, the bulb will light up. This method was used by hams in the old days to manually tune their radios: the brighter the light, the better the match. Now, they may have used something else, maybe
Mercury Vapor bulbs, but fluorescent lights were available in late 1920s.
Just a thought.
Note: this will not
work on coax, must be
single wire like GTO-15 and at the output port of the tuner.
