ICOM 802 / Update my Radio Channel programming

First of all I want to specify I have both the cable and the software for my ICOM 802. I do understand I need these to be able to reprogram from a new file all my channels.

The question is:

- Where can I get the updated (I believe there are two, so the newer one) list of channel programming (for example where Chris Parker 8.137 is on Ch 113) so I can use it with the ICOM software (or other software if available) to be able to update my channel programming list

- Any pitfalls I should consider about this?

Thank you very much.

Re: ICOM 802 / Update my Radio Channel programming

I'll start auto answering myself. Clearly I cannot find it anywhere on the internet. Maybe it doesn't even exist (the channel list). In any case, next thing I can think of if someone with one of the newer 802 (post 2007 I believe, or check Carib WX is on Ch 113 freq 8.137, who happens to have the Icom cloning software that could clone his thing, save the ICF file and send it to me?

Re: ICOM 802 / Update my Radio Channel programming

Well, I guessed nobody would have this very specific thing ... so I transcribed it from the DockSide Radio channel list (post 2013 list) as shown in the first table on this link:

Icom M802 User Group Channel Guide

Download the ICF file from here (Speech compression is ON, you should input your MMSI, I deleted mine)

https://www.dropbox.com/s/u1z1fe1o7j...g.icf.zip?dl=0

I tried to check it and make no mistakes ... but you know ... lemme know if there are mistakes so I can fix them.

I would suggest you clone from your radio onto a file before overwriting your radio with this file. You can then compare the settings from one and the other.

Hope somebody can use it.

Re: ICOM 802 / Update my Radio Channel programming

Just purchase new M802 last month. The preprogrammed user channels are the same as Dockside Radio's that you posted except for a few.
Ch-19 is 7335.0 CHU7
ch-90 is 4051.0 SS-4051
ch-141 is 7238.0 Baja 723
ch-150 is 21.402.0 Pacific
ch-160 is 28400.0 HAM 2840

Since I'm cruising E. Australia to Vanuatu this year, I will be changing the user channels back to what I had before the old radio died. Also the DSC channels are different from what the USA radio had programmed. Will be changing those also. As soon as I can get the cloning software to connect to my radio.

Yeh your request is strange. These freqs have been there for ever. They were never present in the past, only modern radios have programmed channels.had to program it yourself in the past.

What happened with 158 (since that used to be PACIFIC)?

Make sure you are using the correct version of the 802 software for the radio you have. I believe there are two versions (pre 2007/post 2007).

What a stupid concept ... oh well. Sometimes these things are from the 70s in the "ideology" behind them. Lemme know if I can help you with getting that cloning running. Im even running it under Crossover in OS X Mojave, no problems at all.

Im just missing the IC-M92D (or 424 same sw) cloning software so I can change the MMSI on my handheld VHF

These things should be free and open and easy to tinker with. What a pain.
