I need SSB station to help me compare antenna/ground options

We are looking for SSB users who can (from their boat) tell me how they receive our SSB signal using various antenna and ground options to let us choose the final install.

Ideally I would need someone who is in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay or Brazil...
The boat is in Buenos Aires, Argentina and we want to do the tests between October 12 and October 15th. Volunteers will be rewarded with some good Malbec (it may take a while to get it to you but it will get there!)

Any volunteers please pm me opr send me an email at s v l a m o r o c h a AT g m a i l DOT com

Many thanks and fair winds.

Charlie

Re: I need SSB station to help me compare antenna/ground options

Hola Charlie,
I'll be in Puerto Montt that week but my QTH is far too noisy to be of use.
What I would suggest though is using PSK reporter. PSK Automatic Propagation Reporter and Display Reception Reports
Idealy you need to be able to transmit in PSK31 but if you can do that then this is an excellent tool for seeing where your signal is getting to.
Saludos,
Frank

Frank,

Thanks a lot for the links.. This solution would be great if I could work ham frequencies from Argentina but unfortunately my (US) ham license is not good in Argentina because I am an alien in the US... Do you have any ideas of how to do something similar on marine SSB frequencies?

Hello Charlie,
I don't think there is anything like that for marine frequencies. Can you find a local ham and get him to be the nominal operator while you are checking things out?

If you want to see if your rig is really working try using WSPR

Thanks; you have given my two options that don´t require a human on the other end. It will take me a while to make this work but I am sure it will be great for optimizing the setup... Thanks again!
