I'm looking for the most efficient 12 volt dc hydraulic
pump motor for an
autopilot. My cylinder is 9.3 cubic inches and 9" long.
After much
research, it appears that the Accu-steer HRP 0.5 might be the way to go because of its
low power consumption. One concern is this
pump is 0.5 cubic inches/second...this means hard over to hard over is around 18 seconds. Way to long.... I think. The HRP 11 offers half the speed for a 1 amp increase.
So 9 seconds, hard over to hard over.
My
current pilot has a Hard over time of 4 seconds with no load.
What is "normal" for a 21 000lb
full keel displacement boat. My feeling is that it does not need to be very fast because the
boat is not twitchy anyway.
Thanks for any feedback.
