I'm looking for the most efficient 12 volt dc hydraulic pump motor
for an autopilot
. My cylinder is 9.3 cubic inches and 9" long.
After much research
, it appears that the Accu-steer HRP 0.5 might be the way to go because of its low power consumption
. One concern is this pump
is 0.5 cubic inches/second...this means hard over to hard over is around 18 seconds. Way to long.... I think. The HRP 11 offers half the speed for a 1 amp increase.
So 9 seconds, hard over to hard over.
pilot has a Hard over time of 4 seconds with no load.
What is "normal" for a 21 000lb full keel displacement boat
. My feeling is that it does not need to be very fast because the boat
is not twitchy anyway.
Thanks for any feedback.
