AIS approval means in the USA the user cannot program the AIS MMSI At all. In Europe you are allowed the initial programming yourself but it requires a factory reset
Srt which make most of these OEM brands has a password lock on the reset. Without that password you can’t reset the system to put in a new mmsi.
The reason it’s this way is to conform with the acceptance legislation not because manufacturers want money ( they would be delighted if the rules were changed and have argued they should be , in particular the US has held firm on this )
Well mine was ok due to them during check, still happy with my m-102 and would buy it again. So it seams there is a way around this legislation if you want to…

Can anyone help with the colours on the pigtail? I’ve seen some conflicting info online but what I am after is the RS422 tx+ and tx- in order to connect to my converter to seatalk ng.
