How to connect gps BR-305 to VHF simrad RD68

Hi,
I would like to get some advice.
The GPS-puck (serial version) has 4 connected wires: TX (white), RX (green), VCC (red) and GND (black). VCC en GND are going to be connected to the battery, via a converter which converts 12V into 5V.
The VHF NMEA interface has a red and a blue wire. The red one has to be connected to NMEA OUT of the navigator, according to the manual, so I assume the red wire (VHF) has to be connected to the white wire (GPS).
That seems obvious to me.
Should I connect blue (VHF) to green (GPS)? I am not sure about this one. Does the GPS receive data from the VHF?
I would appreciate your help.

Peter
