For those interested to transfer routes and waypoints from iNaxX to Garmin Handheld:
I have a handheld Garmin GPSmap 78sc
iNaxX on a
iPad
email address
Mac Computer
Homeport
software on the Mac computer
Go to
iNavX - waypoints / Import/Export / export Waypoints /
email
email the waypoints to your email address
back in iNaxX - waypoints / Import/Export / export Routes / email
email routes to your email address
Go to the Mac computer and your email account. Download routes file and waypoints file to the Mac hard drive. Only download the .gpx files.
Open the Garmin Homeport
Software
Go to "File / Import" at the top left of the
screen
Find download file
on the hard drive
click on the file to download -routes or waypoints. I do them seperately
Click
Import after you highlight the file you want
It will show up in a new file in the Garmin Homeport software under "Recently Imported ..." They will also so on the map in the software off to the right.
Attach you Garmin HH to the Mac using a adapter that fits both units
The HandHeld will appear under "My Garmin Devices" in the top left of the Homeport Software.
Click on Transfer Tab in Homeport, Click on Send recently imported from iNavX .gpx to device
In the box that appears, put an X in the appropriate box.
Click on Send
Routes take longer than waypoints to transfer
Box will say Transfer complete. click close
When done the routes and waypoints in iNavX will be the same as on the Handheld.
Notes:
For me I only use the iNavX for building routes so delete all of the files on the handheld before I start the procedure. My hand held is a back up if I loss
power to the iPad or want something to look at closely while in the
cockpit generally coming in at night to a bay.
Easier once you have done it than it sounds when reading.
