Re: Help with sourcing transducer for Simrad NSS8 FF Plotter

Thanks for the help.

Simrad recommended their # 000-0106-73 transducer and
25' cable ($79 + tax), no shipping costs for standard shipping.

By the way, those transducers, depth and speed are both connected through a Seatalk Tridata to a SealtalkNG adapter to my NMEA2000 backbone and display the depth and speed on my Garmin plotter and two B&G data displays.
You are right. There are transducers that connect to NMEA 2000. They are very basic depth reporting devices. I was thinking the more common type that you can use in a fishfinder like the NSS8 to see the bottom composition.

That makes sense and a bit of info I will file away. Would not mind adding a transducer that would give me more bottom detail in the future. Very handy for diving when you're trying to find a wreck offshore.

The DST800 connects to 2k but you need a hole in the hull ! If your boats got a core then you will have problems with an in hull ducer !
