Help with Raymarine MFD

My new boat came with a Raymarine eseries chartplotter which is very different from the Navico stuff I'm used to.

I've added on a raymarine wind instrument, plus the ICT-5 converter box to change the signals to seatalkNG/nmea2000 - but I can't see to find the wind panel on my e125 display or get it to display any wind info at all!

The raymarine forum signup page doesn't work and their technical support on the phone told me that the mfd 'doesn't have the ability to directly read nmea wind packets' and I would have to buy a $600 CAD add on screen (ST70 or something) which is obviously nonsense as even my 12 year old Simrad NSS8 could do that and that seems very basic functionality

Does anyone have any ideas?

That’s just the Raymarine system design - they do like lots of little displays. I have a newer model Axiom+ MFD and I can display apparent and true wind in a variety of formats in the Dashboard pages. Our previous e95 MFD had dashboard pages as well.

Select Dashboard from the main menu and scroll through the pre-defined pages. If none suit your needs create a new page and add the controls that you want to see. Wind roses and digits are available.

You are right - thanks! Glad I didn't just take the tech support at their word.

Re: Help with Raymarine MFD

You need the I70 to calibrate your wind instrument. When it's all working you should be able to see the wind on your data page as well as having the wind displayed on the I70. Apparent wind will be displayed by default as a yellow arrow emanating from your boat on the chart display. While it doesn't show a number, the arrow varies in width with wind speed. You can also display wind details on data boxes on your chart display or the data bar, but at the expense of other navigation data you might find more useful. The data on the e125 actually has several screens you can scroll through with at least 1 dedicated to wind displays.
