Help w/ Autohelm ST4000 autopilot problem

So when I go to turn on my auto pilot (Autohelm ST4000) through my electrical panel it goes to a flatline-beep and flickers '4000' on the screen. It was working a few weeks ago but now this is all it will do. Does anyone have any ideas as to the spawn of this problem? I appreciate your advice!

First guess: Low voltage. Perhaps due to a bad connection. Check those push-on terminals on the back for tightness.

So far all i've really tried is connecting the wires that supply bower straight to the batter w/ aligator clips to make sure it's not a power problem. It could be that I didn't do this right but I'm thinking the problem is arising from something other than a power issue.

For anything else but bad power you'll be returning it to Raymarine. All other external problems that I know of will cause a nice error display. Check those push-on terminals. If they feel loose you can tighten the female part with a gentle squeeze with pliers. Or alligator clip directly from a known good battery to the ST4000 power terminals.
