HELP Simrad AP25 LCD Display Needs Replacement Or Repair

currently installed Simrad AP25 system on a Jeanneau Sun Kiss 47 is working except that the LCD display is now black, so I cannot see any information.

Simrad want me to replace the whole system (all five components - pump, brain, display-head etc.).

I cannot believe in this modern, supposedly increasingly eco-friendly aware, World that I have to junk all five components because one little LCD display has failed - incredibly wasteful of Earth's resources!

Does anyone have a working AP25 LCD display head unit that is no longer required that I can purchase?

Or,

Is there a known way to repair the current unit?

any information, except abuse for Simrad (I have given them enough already), would be most welcome
