Help! Destroyed by My Own Bullet (2HP)

Hi all,
i now there have been many threads on this, but I just cannot get my PC configured to com with my bullet 2HP. the problem (I think) is that I'm using windows 7 with easynet switch, as advised here

I have power to the bullet, but i cannot get to the pc to talk to it.
It just won't work for me. If anybody can post an idiots guide to making this work I'd appreciate it

I followed these instructions and had no problems:

(It says nano but works for bullet). Start with bullet connected directly to computer.

By the way, what power over ethernet induction device does everyone use? Are there native 12/24 volt ones?

You want a passive POE. The ones at the top of this TitanWireless page are typical of what is available. You should be able to find ones like these at suppliers of wireless equipment in the EU. They all use a 2.1 x 5.5mm barrel plug with center positive to make the power connection.

Thanks Bob! The bullet takes quite a wide input range, so I should be able to connect that straight to the 12V board net?

Idpnd, you won't have any problems running direct from your ships 12 volts. Ubiquiti says the Bullet needs a minimum of 10.5 volts for stable operation and can take up to 24 volts.

can you get to the point where you can connect to the AirOS on the device...if not I would suspect you haven't changed you Workstation IP correctly

to check
go to your start button
run: cmd
type in: ipconfig at the prompt to verify.
it should indicate your ip is 192.168.1.21

Thanks- ive deleted the easy net switch, as thats incompatible with windows 7, as is the Airos software with internet explorer using windows 7. So, it seems the answer is firefox, then when using thea wireless router, there is no need to switch addresses, so its much simpler

Can you describe the problem you are having with Windows 7 and IE. What version of W7 are you running (Home, Pro etc.)

I've had no problems running AirOS under W7 with IE8, Firefox, Chrome & Safari.

IE will block some functions with the Pop-up Blocker until you allow pop-ups from the static IP you assign to the Bullet.

The problem was that the Easyynet switch did not switch the profiles as it should. Having removed that, i then found that i just could not com with the bullet using IE8 with W7. There is a thread which gets around to that point here: nanostation 2 on windows 7? - Ubiquiti Networks Forum
I did not realise that the problem could be the popup blocker. Probably because I did not realise the popup blocker existed!!
Anyway, I used Firefox, and all seems OK. Ive got to finish the job tomorrow, then I can hopefully report a succesfull install!

Besides the pop-up blocker there are internet security settings that will prevent IE8 to function with AirOS.

hi all, this just gets worse and worse. I have now moved to a pc running XP. although i will have to use both the windows 7 and xp pcs on my system. the problem i have is this: i want to use the 2HP and a netgear wgr614v9 to provide a wireless system aboard. I can, with difficulty,make the bullet talk tothe xp machine, but not the w7. thats when i dont use the netgear at all. If i try to configure the netgear to work as a wifi router between the bullet and pc, i just cannot do it. Thats the problem with being a mechanical, not electrical/comms engineer. It just drives me crazy. if anybody can provide me with a fools guide to making this work, i would most appreciate it. thanks bryan

Success at last!!!
it turned out to be the pc required to reboot before it would com with the rest of the world. It is now OK. Even the windows 7 is working!
