H5000 install and phoenix connectors

hello,
was wondering if anybody has a source for the phoenix connectors used on a H5000 CPU? the b&g part number 000-12894-001 is like $60 and i have only found it in a european website, uk i believe.
also i would appreciate if some one had pictures of a recent installation just to compare/contrast my future installation.
thanks

Type "Phoenix Connectors" into Amazon's search box. Lots of sources, but you might have to measure an H5000 block to get the correct pitch.

Steven Engineering in South San Francisco is a major Phoenix distributor. I think they now sell direct online, but if not and they do have what you need PM me here and I can use an account.

Re: H5000 install and phoenix connectors

H5000 from eBay. I had that chalenge also 3 years ago. the big one (N2K and power) are 5.08 mm and the small one, 3.81 mm. Be carefull, get the one where the wire goes strait up with the screws on the side.

Re: H5000 install and phoenix connectors

Mouser, Arrow, or Digi-Key should have that brand or connectors. The problem is that a product manufacturer could have an orphan connector on a product that is currently not available except from their spares. Removing a connector from a multi-layer PCB is also an issue unless you have the correct removal equipment.

I got spoiled working on MIL-AERO equipment because they normally have spares available for many years.
Good luck with your endeavors!

Re: H5000 install and phoenix connectors

Closeup of the wiring. Whatever you do, it can get messy inthere.

Note that power connector is not the same. Same type as N2K connector would not fit beside MHU connector. If you have N2K or NMEA0183 wind instrument (mine is 213MHU), just remove that connector and it should fit.

thanks for the replies.
peter, i see you have a resistor mounted, and the only example i have from the install manual is for a "external sensor wiring, expansion analog" scenario, and it shows for a paddlewheel and sea temp connection. i'm wondering is that what you hooked up?
i have the new airmar tri-ducer, UDST800 that i need to connect. i'm going to call b&g support, tier 3 or whatever now, and ask that question.
thanks for the picture, i'm looking at the power in and b&g example is top loaded connector but first i have to find any connector that will work.

Re: H5000 install and phoenix connectors

Ok so I called B&g tech support that handles H5000 bill is his name and heís very knowledgeable. I was not getting how the connections worked and didnít understand that ALL nmea info comes off backbone and read off one input on cpu.
Also the brand of Phoenix style or whatever the green connectors are the manufacturer is Molex.

You got that package at a very nice price. You got it at the announced price or you made him an offer? Just to know how much I can deal the Pilot CPU and Precision9 package

Re: H5000 install and phoenix connectors

Paid 2k for all. Dealer best4_u had the ram with compass and pilot cpu in one sale and a pilot and hydra in another. PMíd him to make this bundle best4_u price $2300 me $1900 settled $2000. Thereís a 30 day money back guarantee from eBay on his items and I was going to have my b&g certified local seller/installer bench test but I didnít have time I asked them and they said they heat them up and connect the units to a network I did my own 12v ck to see some lights come is all. Seems legit. Iím buying other items from Chicago marine and getting a Wifi module from best4_u But yeah thatís a too good to be true type stuff. Itís going to be started on Monday so Iíll report back if any issues.
Also I will post on a scam on this forum I believe. I post an want ad needed h5000 graphic display and for anyone that may have one for sale to pm me. A long time subscriber since 5/12 gave me a email to a guy and definitely a scam. Came to a price sent pics and I would buy with PayPal. He balked and asked for bitcoin and said he shipped and it would take 10-11days. Now wanted payment. Will post on appropriate forum the whole scenario but what threw me was the intro by this long time subscriber. I pmíd him about it and so far no response. Thx again for the help
