Garmin gwind Transducer Display

Hello All, I plan to replace our old Horizon wind speed and direction setup on a 1985 Pearson 303.

I'm looking at the (wired) Garmin gwind transducer and plan to use a Garmin 742xs Chartplotter as the wind information display.

Question: Has anyone seen the gwind graphic display on a 742xs? Is the display in a useful format?

Any information is appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Garmin gwind Transducer Display

I have a gpsmap 922 and gwind but with GNX instrument. The plotter display can be configured. I true and apparent wind direction during chart displaying in the compass indication and show apparent wind speed as digital value. It should not matter whether the plotter receives wind data via NMEA 2000 or directly from the ANT connection.

Re: Garmin gwind Transducer Display

Thank you! I appreciate the information. This fall I'll put in NMEA 2000 and connect gwind to my 742xs.

I hope the graphic display of the wind conditions is easy to see and understand at a glance.

Thanks
