Garmin GPS SD card

I just got a Garmin GPS for the car. (I have one on the boat already.) This one has an SD slot. Does anyone make marine navigation software for the garmin on an SD card?

Yes Garmin does - the BlueChart product. It may or may not be compatible with your auto GPSR though. Garmin's site has a compatability widget on their cartography site that will let you see which products are compatible with which receiver. Note that BlueChart isn't cheap and it's locked by region.

The cheapest place I've been able to find for Garmin charts is Aubrett's General Store on e-Bay. Shop eBay Canada Store - Depth Finder:: FishFinder, Humminbird I just saved over $80 on a G2 chip over what I would have paid retail up here in Canada.

I have a Garmin 182C chartplotter which I use with the BlueChart charts on my PC. If you have used the BlueChart on your PC to save your waypoints, routes and trip data, then you can save them to an SD card and upload them to your "newer" chartplotter.

I recently purchased a Garmin 4212 which uses the SD card format for their G2 Vision cards. I can now upload all my old waypoints and routes from my previous Garmin model (after saving them on an SD card). My first mate will now get to have her own chartplotter to keep track of "us". lol
