Garmin 547 info to ICOM M324

I just bought a new ICOM M324 and I want to send GPS data (location) to it from my Garmin 547.
Does anyone know which wires to hook up?

Thanks all in advance!

Do they both have NMEA2000 connections? Not familiar with the Garmin 547 but my Garmin 740 has a standard NMEA connector on the back. I purchased an industry standard cable and connected my Garmin to my NMEA2000 network and the GPS info from the Garmin was immediately available to everything on the network.

Just looked at an ICOM manual and it seems it only has NMEA0183. I am getting out of my depth here but I am pretty certain to get 0183 to talk to 2000 you need an adapter to translate.

OK. Garmin manual says it has 0183 and 2000. Haven't dealt with the 0183 personally but here's a link that might help.

Boat Projects: Beginners guide to Nmea 2000, Nmea 0183, and bridging

Sorry I couldn't give you the step by step but I'm kind of new to NMEA myself. However that link did it for me so hope it works for you.

I was able to find the original installation guide for the Garmin. The guide identifies all the wiring (Tx, Rx etc.). Once I had that it was easy.

You had no problems with settings? I've read comments before about sentences, baud rate and such that can be an issue with 0183. Fortunately have not yet had to deal with that so not sure if these can be a problem or not.

No problem with settings especially since the settings were in place already for my previous radio. In any case, its easy
