Re: Furuno Signal Cables

I believe Furuno assumes you are using a Ethernet hub (located in a dry place) vs. plugging the radome directly into the MFD. Hence, as Mark points out the cable with the waterproof connector on it is part of the MFD, not the radome.

FWIW, the part number Mark provides isn't $250 in the US:

Furuno Lan Cable F/Mfd8/12 & Tzt9/14 - 3m Waterproof

Thank you very much for the correct part number. Found one on ebay for $15 which sure beats the hell out of $250

Re: Furuno Signal Cables

So your MFD didn't come with this cable? It is listed as a standard part, not an option, in the MFD included parts list. Maybe you already have it lying around someplace?

HI Mark,

No it didn't come with my MFD. I bought the MFD from Furuno as a Demo model and had to hound them for things like plugs etc. Now I'll try hounding them for this also. I'll keep all you guys updated on what happens

Carsten:

Not sure if you solved this yet - but I stumbled across some split gland watertight fittings from Heyco for another application I have and thought about your problem here:

Heyco®-Tite Liquid Tight Cordgrips for Pre-assembled Cables

Thank you

I have solved the problem of the cable - but I do need to mount it through the pedistal and was getting ready to cut the net plug off, snake it through a fitting and put a net net plug on afterwards.

This will sold that problem
