Furuno HF Radio Help

Happy Holidays AAll,
I'm trying to sort out my Furuno FS1503-EM radio for sailmail/airmail. I have a very good signal to voice stations and my SWR meter reports a 1.7 or so for that but when I try to connect to airmail I have very little power output. 'Just doesn't register on the meter.

I have a pactorII/USB upgraded to III. It's bluetooth controlled, if that makes a difference, and I've experimented with various fsk/psk settings to no avail.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions and I'm sorry if I've missed prior posts addressing this issue.
Yours,

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
The problem is that there is no power out for airmail/sailmail. It puts out just fine for voice. I have a crossed needle SWR meter on it. It does try and transmit but acts like there is no audio signal coming from the modem or computer to produce power. I believe it has to do with some setting in the airmail program or the modem's feed to the transceiver. The program controls the radio just fine. Weather faxes receive fine.
Thanks again for any thoughts.
Sunny but cool here in St. Petersburg,
Dennis

G'day, Dennis, On the options menu in airmail, check your Radio Connection Setting. Mine is set on "Direct using Pactor-II control port. Cheers.

The cable is self made. I'm pretty sure it's correct. I would expect that it wouldn't control frequency, transmit/receive and weather fax if it were completly wrong. But anything's possible. It works so well for every thing else. I have the box set for "direct using pctII port". Maybe I need to double check the cable audio leads. I sure have gone over them several times but that doesn't mean that I haven't made the same error each review.

Ahhh... so simple, so hard!!!

You've tried increasing the FSK and PSK amplitude settings in the Airmail Tools|Options menu? There are also some tools for finding proper levels in the Terminal window menus.
