Fixing Raymarine Tillerpilot Deck Socket

The system is the ST4000+ tillerpilot. I had to wiggle the deck socket to make good contact and then it would quit working from time to time. Very worrisome to have the autopilot quit working! The socket contacts can be "adjusted" using a very small screw driver. You bend each side of the contact toward the center. This puts more pressure on the pin and it becomes reliable. Cheap fix- don't buy a new deck socket.
