FCC adopts Icom M-802 waiver!

The FCC announced in today's Daily Digest that they have granted "a temporary waiver of sections 80.225(a)(4) and 80.1101(c)(4)(ii) of the Commission’s rules to permit the manufacture, importation, sale, and installation of the M802 until January 1, 2020" which Icom requested last February.

See

Hopefully the Icom M802 will start to become widely available again.

That's all well and good for USA flagged vessels and other non-EU flagged.

"The IC-M802 marine single-sideband (SSB) transceiver is available for customers who operate or sail under a non EU flag".

I'm wondering if Ham Radio Outlet is going to start carrying them again.

Think i'll just wait, the boat i buy may already have one. Doubtful though.

As long as i don't flag under UK i can have one.
Read somewhere UK will confiscate them.
