Experience with CPT Autopilot?

I also have a steel boat with those magnetic issues. I’ve been playing with using PyPilot as the controller vs the older version control head. I’d like to have a GPS heading vs a magnetic heading. I’m optimistic but still need to do some more work.

The pypilot has been shown to work very well on a steel boat w/the CPT motor (youtube video) and also a windshield wiper motor. Using the pypilot you can then make the CPT AP much smarter than just a point and shoot w/o breaking the bank.
