DST800 in a D800 housing

I'm wondering if anyone knows if a DST800 retractable transducer will fit in a D800 retractable housing.

My boat is equipped with a D800 from an old Raymarine ST60 install. I hoping the new DST800 will fit in that housing so I can avoid a haulout until a later date.

I eventually plan a haulout and will change the housing and remove the other thru-hull but it won't be for a few months.

Re: DST800 in a D800 housing

I wanted to answer my own question as this seems like it could be a fairly common thing in the future. Many boats run ST60s that came with the D800 sensor.

In any case. I contacted Airmar and they confirmed that Yes, the DST800 should fit in the D800 housing just fine. I haven't tried yet and will update once I actually do it.

Well? Did your boat sink because the DST didn't fit? 🤷

Re: DST800 in a D800 housing

The new sounders come with 2 different o rings. If the old one doesn’t have a flapper you need to swap the Oring on the new transducer.

They expect you to do what you are asking.

Though I have seen some old housings are are a different size. If it has a plug next to it you can compare to the new one. Before you pull it out.
