Yes, by all means, it does.
I have the Standard Horizon GX-2150 that delivers DSC waypoints (from
distress alerts and position reports) to the chartplotter from the radio via NMEA0183 38,400 baud rs422-like interface. Set it up that way on the HDS Settings... menu.
I also have the HX-851 handheld from Standard Horizon and by interacting between it and the GX-2150, I am able to check out all the functionality and the integrated messages to the HDS.
The DSC points are really more like waypoints, whereas the AIS targets are moved as the ship updates its position. I have not tried DSC polling yet with my setup to see if offers something similar to AIS updates.
