Do I need a battery booster for an SSB radio?

Another question related to my plans to install an IC-803 on my boat. as part of the package, the ICOM came with an MFJ-4416C battery booster. From its documentation it appears to be something particularly useful when powering the transceiver from a car, cranking battery, where V changes somewhat when engine starts/stops. Mine is powered from a house battery where voltage is much more constant. Is that relevant? Should I install the booster straight away or try the system out first without the booster and then add it if needed?

It looks like a Dc to dc converter. To get constant 13.8v to the 803. When sailing / anchor the house may be consistent but it’s only 12.5v

You will have more output power at 13.8 then 12.5v But probably marginal. It may help cut out some noise though as well.
