copper bonding strap needs replacing

I have 2" copper bonding straps that were probably installed when the boat was built in 1986 and are corroded and broken in one or two spots that I know of. Would replacing these broken runs with similar 2" straps be the current best practice?

Re: copper bonding strap needs replacing

Are these "bonding" straps or part of your HF radio. If they are part of your bonding system, you can replace with heavy gauge wire instead of wide straps. If it's part of your HF radio, replacement strap can be found at any roofing supply. Chuck

Re: copper bonding strap needs replacing

Hmmm. I have an SSB on board, however these straps run to all the thruhulls, engine, generator, etc. so.... bonding straps I assume?? Or do they do double duty for the SSB?
