Oh, it can be done, but...

An iPad is not an autopilot, if that's what you mean. Theoretically, you would need to write software to use those internal sensors, and basically glue your iPad to your boat, it could not move in relation to the boat, just like your fluxgate. It would be the fluxgate, and the computer.
