Cobra Handheld VHF

We bought a Cobra MRHH325 handheld a while back and it stays in the charger most times. I noticed that it discharges after about 6 hrs on standby.
The reason we got it was for backup or when in trouble. But 6 hrs seems a bit short . Is there something wrong with my unit or is the the norm on battery life?
What sort of standby time you get out of other brands?
Cheers
Reiner

Re: Cobra Handheld VHF

I had one of these. The battery stayed up on standby for days. Incidentally I really liked this radio a lot. I bought because it was cheap, and was pleasantly surprised at the high quality materials and excellent controls. After it was stolen by some scrotes in Cherbourg, I replaced it with an expensive Standard Horizon HX851 which has buttons for volume and squelch (negative), a which does not exude quality like the Cobra did. The functionality of the SH is much better, however.
