Coax cable loss

The actual cable carrying signal from antenna to electronics is given little consideration, so I've written up an article on my blog for everyone wishing to get better performance from his / her radio setup.

Contents in a nutshell:

- you're better off mounting an AIS antenna in the cockpit
- with mast mounting use LMR-400 or similar low-loss coax cable
- cheap e.g. RG 58 coax loses a lot of signal
