Chinese Inverter Model, Sizing and Consumption Questions

Hello everyone,

I am looking to purchase an inverter for my 12VDC system. Even though I would like to own a Victron unit, cost is prohibitive, especially considering import duties. I live in Brazil and somehow goods from Aliexpress are flowing through Brazilian customs without duties, regardless of price.

I have 2 epever MPPTs and it seems like a good brand.

Here are some questions, if someone is inclined to chime in and help me out!!

1. Does anyone have any experience with the Epever IPower-Plus Series Pure Sine Wave line? I am looking to purchase model IP2000-21-Plus. It appears this is not one of those inverters that underdeliver on capacity. The 2000w unit is rated for 2000W continuous output power and 4000W surge power for 5s.

2. Rated output efficiency @85%. Do you think this is reasonable? Also Max. output efficiency @92% if using 30% loads. Would you size up the inverter to increase efficiency?

3. No-load current rated @<1.2A. This may be a stupid question, but when in use should I still account for an extra 1.2A? Say I keep my ~1A router on at all times. Do I negate this no-load current consumption?

If you have a chinese inverter and would like to make a recommendation, please let me know!

Thank you all!!!

Re: Chinese Inverter Model, Sizing and Consumption Questions

We bought a new Flamezum inverter (see photo) via Amazon and are very happy with it up to now.
It is linked to our 840Ah LiFePo4 battery and has a remote panel.

We use it to run water heater, kettle, hob, or even a heating fan.
Not all at once of course and mostly when we have a reasonably full battery, which we do have most of the time, due to 1200w solar.

One word of caution though.

The cable to connect the inverter over a relatively short distance (about 1000mm) to the battery which was supplied with the unit was way to small in cross-section and heated up quickly. We installed a considerably bigger one. All good now. Click image for larger version

Thank you for the recommendation Franziska. A bit cheaper than the epever, and the on/off panel is a bonus.

Also, i loved the cat and the refit!

Thanks, glad to help. Please excuse the temporary lighting in the electric cabinet :-)
