My cell phones have for many years had a built-in barometer. Currently using a Samsung S4. You need an app to access the barometer. I bet there are a boatload of apps out there...
Most important is to log the readings regularly, or find an app that has a barograph of at least a 24 h period. Another very useful function is to have an
alarm for rapidly changing pressures.
I use an app to Bluetooth link my
phone to
OpenCPN and it not only transfers my
GPS coordinates but the barometer reading and
compass heading too.
Another app I use is "Physics Toolbox Suite" which allows me to use the phones as a
g-force meter
linear accelerometer
gyroscope (actually an angular velocity vs time graph)
barometer
roller coaster (g-force vs time, angular velocity, accelertion, pressure vs time)
hygrometer (relative humidity)
thermometer
proximity
sensor
ruler
magnetometer
compass
GPS
inclinometer
light meter
sound meter
tone detector
audio oscilloscope
audio spectrum analyzer
spectrogram (audio waterfall)
multi recorder
tone
generator
color
generator
stroboscope (variable period)
You might find it useful. It was free at the time I downloaded it several years ago.
