Changing a B&G wind vane to Navman

I'm trying to change a B&G wind transducer to a Navman due to the B&G wind transducer broke. And I got hold of a navman transducer. The B&G instrument still working. Just the vane that broke. I heard that it's possible to change to a Navman transducer and still use the B&G instrument. That they use the same signals.
I just want to confirm this and ask if there's nay trick to it?

Regards,
Choel

I never heard that this is possible before. I do know that the quality of a B&G wind-sensor is hard to beat so I would buy a new B&G one if the Navman doesn't work.

I also don't understand your system: what is in between the sensor and the instrument? We have a black-box computer in between. The sensor would connect to the computer, not to the instrument (we have hydra2000).

cheers,
Nick.
