CG Electronics Technician - Advice Needed

I am currently an Electronics Technician in the United States Coast Guard. With the recent closure of Loran and the projected budget and personnel cuts for the Coast Guard I have decided to pursue a career in the civilian sector. I have ten years experience with installation, troubleshooting, maintenace and repair, and wiring of all types of marine electronics. Does anyone have any advice on where to post job resumes or places that list job openings pertaining to the marine electronics field? Thank you for your help and fair winds and following seas to all.

Where are you located in Virginia? Could have a reference for you.

Also, it would be good to get your ABYC certification if you're gonna work on boats, no matter how much military experience you might have.

Welcome aboard from a fellow Coastie (Air Station Atlantic City). Do you have any civilian licenses that relate to your expertise? If not, that might be something worth pursuing prior to separating from the CG. Your ESO might be able to coordinate some TA for any schools or training that will help on the civilian side. Best of luck!

MSC is asking for electronics techs now. That may not be civilian enough for you.

Thanks for the good info, I am planning to attend some of the NMEA training prior to getting out in August. I will also try to get some of my licenses prior to getting off active duty. I am located on the Eastern Shore of Virginia right now, but don't really plan on staying here, however I am open to anything on the East Coast.
