I have a series of these
instruments in stock and wanted to install them. These are a
wind display, 2 Multi (Type Ocean) and 2 Multi (Type
GPS repeater). I have tested them thoroughly and they
work well individually with NMEA0183 data imported.
One of their particular features was a proprietary CAN-Bus which allowed to speed up data exchange and make for easier cable routing.
I have tested this bus and it works perfectly well on the bench but
- when I give it data to transmit, the unit receiving the
NMEA data will display the
NMEA data itself but the data wil not appear on the other units. More bizarr, if I interrupt the
power supply shortly to some of the units the full bus willl start operating correctly. Once I stop and restart they system the problem appears again.
I tested the bus itself, it is ok, no mix up between CAN hi and CAN lo, the bus connectors aren't blown, end resistors are in place, voltages make sense. Anybody having experience with this bus and able to comment?
