Canadian MMSI

Took advantage of Black Friday while preparing our boat in Indiantown, FL for cruising to Bahamas, then back to New Brunswick. We purchased a Standard Horizon GX2200 and have applied to get a Canadian MMSI for our Canadian registered boat. How long should we expect to wait to get our MMSI number? Only looking for information on CANADIAN please. Thanks in advance!

I’m going by memory b/c it’s been a long time since I did this, but I’m pretty sure I applied online, and recieved my MMSI within a couple of days.

do it online, and they will email it back in a couple days. or more likely couple business days.

As of January of 2018, Industry Canada has enabled a new online form (AB) to allow you to quickly apply for an MMSI number:

After you’ve submitted the online form, you should receive an email response with your new MMSI number from Industry Canada within two to three days. Be sure to check your spam or junk folder for the email from Industry Canada.
