While at the
boat show, i noticed a nice idea on a
boat. They had
autopilot control
head on
pedestal, but another near
companionway under
dodger. Not a new idea, but one I would like to replicate. Nice to be able to steer from shelter when away from traffic.
Problem is, my
boat has a
B&G Network Pilot (ACS1) which is out of production. Does anyone know if a newer
B&G head would
work on this pilot, or if there is a place to buy older B&G
parts? I had tried to track down a
remote for this
autopilot last year but no one has it. I wonder if control head would be more common. I assume you can wire a second head into same pilot computer and whichever one is activated will control the pilot? And no, at this point replacing a well functioning pilot isn't in consideration unless you have an extra 3000 to give me.
Thanks!
