Cameras for sail trim

We have a hard bimini with four solar panels. The bimini is very good at sun protection, solar power and an enclosable cockpit. It restricts our view of the sails for trim and reefing. Watching the Vendee Globe, we see many cameras used for sail trim since many now have an enclosed cockpit. I searched but did not find threads for this- have OP made a system with cameras and a viewing screen? I would appreciate advice.

Re: Cameras for sail trim

Most if not all the MFDs (B&G, Raymarine, Furuno etc) can all display camera feeds. You can get cameras and stick them anywhere on the boat but keep in mind you may need lighting for use at night.

Never tried them for sailing trimming but don't see why they shouldn't work.

Re: Cameras for sail trim

Interesting....I have also been looking in this direction, namely for survellance while not only off the boat....but, more so, on the boat. i.e.

If we were in a quite anchorage, boat is locked up and we're sleeping, someone creeps aboard (if camera was on spreader) one could see where they are actually at. You might guess my next move.

Good camera info??? N2000
