Beneteau Oceanis 46 VDO electrical panel

Hi, the VDO electrical panel on the boat seems to have several bugs. Has anyone been experiencing this kind of trouble, and did you manage to overcome the issues:
- water tank readings are always at "full" level
- Ampere display for Main battery bank shows sometimes 2A, but most of the time it shows nothing. Also no Ampere display for the engine and bow thruster batteries.
- Voltage at the display is off by 0.3 V from real voltage for all batteries.

The boat is an Oceanis 46, built 2007.

Cheers

1. common, could be sender

2. rarely amp displays for other batteries

3. common VDO gauges are only indicator type, not a multimeter

Fuel gauge is a very common problem. More likely the sender is bad. Easy to check. If it is bad make sure you buy the right one for the gauge ( proper resistance) US vs European. The rest IMO is normal.

Re: Beneteau Oceanis 46 VDO electrical panel

the VDO panel is getting more funny. was cruising last night and had the nav lights on, and all was fine for a while. then the red nav light switched itself off after 15 minutes. checked the light bulb, but it was ok. but no voltage at the wires going to the nav light. at the VDO panel the nav lights were switched on, the "mooring light" indicator was glowing dimly red now and the "tri-colour light" indicator was showing it was on. but i had not switched them on! after switching off the nav light the mooring and tri-colour indicators were off again. looks like some stray current issue. going to troubleshoot it now, but i hope it's not due to some internal issue with the VDO panel.

Re: Beneteau Oceanis 46 VDO electrical panel

it seems the root cause of the other indicator lights is eluding my troubleshooting effort. can this be related to some stray current? the nav lights have been replaced with LED lights by now. the anchor light is still the old one, haven't been up the mast yet. there is no tri-colour light connected, so that one should be open circuit.

Re: Beneteau Oceanis 46 VDO electrical panel

Hi I am having similar problems with the VDO LED panel on my 2007 Oceanis 50. It got progressively worse and now the LED shows nothing - I am cruising in Italy and trying to find someone to sort it out - a challenge in itself. Help!
