Beam Communications RST 100 Satcom

I inherited a RST 100 on my yacht. As we are crossing the pond this year I have been firing it up with an - as yet - un-activated Iridium Sim.

All seems well but before I spend money on what is quite an old unit (2006) I would like to here the views of current users.

In 2018, am I wasting my time of will the RSt give me voice and data, especially email and SMS without buying a new system?

Re: Beam Communications RST 100 Satcom

The RST100 is based off of a 9522B, which is an older but still commonly used transceiver.

Your system will work just as good as any Iridium phone (GO included, just minus wifi) for voice and data.
