This isn't new. My
Simrad NSS8 freezes from time to time and just turns off. If you're down below
cooking or using the
head, the first you know about it is when the
autopilot starts complaining about missing track data.
I'm not the only one though. I met a woman with the latest
Simrad NSS9 evo3. Nothing else turned on, run from a
battery and efoy
generator, it would randomly turn off. No warning, nothing.
I don't think it's a voltage issue. Specs read: 10 - 31.2 V DC and it draws less than 3amps.
Power consumption max - 23 watts.
I think the either cpu is too slow for when there's a lot of data, and it freezes and shits the
bed, or some king of
software bug.
