Hhhmm I have 4 different brands on my
boat and they all speak to each other without issues. The key is understanding how to install them and following it to the letter.
NMEA 2000 is a standard and as long as the manufactuer conforms, then there is no issue. Just like different brands and devices on the
Internet.
I dislike Raymarine as they decided to make thier own standard for connectors that makes is very confusing to mix with other
gear. In my recent
refit, I replaced all my Raymarine
gear (except AP) with other brands because of this.
