B&G Zeus: Boat name not displaying on AIS

Our AIS was working fine for a few months. Our boat name as well as all other targets displayed reliably on our B&G MFD.

Within the last month I noticed our boat name no longer showed and, when checking MarineTraffic.com I could no longer see us. Other boat names nearby are fine but for us it's just our number.

I'm guessing the problem is 'us' and we (me) adjusted our settings somehow.

Any ideas where to start our trouble shooting?

Thanks for any insights!

Your mfd has nothing to do with this. The issue is completely with your AIS transceiver not broadcasting.

Ok, thanks. Any thoughts on why it would get bumped offline and what might be required to reset?

If you didn't accidently tell it to go silent, there is a reasonable chance the problem is the antenna.

The boat is currently transmitting our MMSI number without boat name. We don't show up on MarineTraffic. We're currently located in the Florida Keys. Could it have to do with our location?

Some neighbor boats are displaying properly.

Re: B&G Zeus: Boat name not displaying on AIS

Boat name and other data burst is sent at a much longer interval than the basic heading, speed & MMSI burst. If your signal got weak (bad antenna, bad cable, blown transmitter, etc.) then your data frame may not be making it to MarineTraffic.
Do nearby boats get your name eventually? if they do, or if they have to be very close to get it, then the problem is your AIS transmitter/feedline/antenna. If they don't , but they do get your number and heading/speed reliably, then your AIS has some sort of data issue.
