B&G 508 Wind Sensor show wind direction but no wind speed

I was up the mast to check some things including the wind speed sensor. It hasn't spun since we purchased the boat and it was pretty stiff. I lubricated it and turned by hand for a while until it near span freely (was still a little stuck at the time but not too bad).

The wind has picked up over the last few days and it seems to be spinning freely now but still no wind speed, only wind direction. It's showing up on the device list of my Zeus3 plotter (508 wind sensor) and under data it shows 0knts of wind speed but the correct wind direction.

Any ideas what this could be and how to fix it? Looked into replacing the bearing but I'm not sure this is the fix.
