Re: Avnav setup

Hello again mgrouch! Still having issues changing timezone, passwords. I use the GUI on the main screen that says terminal. Is that the correct location to do this? Can I setup MCS board, download charts etc. without changing the timezone, passwords and come back to it? Thank you john

Re: Avnav setup

Yes you can setup your board , download charts without changing password and time zone. Default time zone is UTC. You might even keep it. It’s universal time used in navigation. Chartplotter will show you local time as well.

Re: Avnav setup

Also, the signalk App Store says I have the app for the MCS board but when I type the command for post install it doesn’t do anything, is this because I have no passwords ? Signalk only asks for a password and that seemed to work ok??

Yes you can. You need to run it from command line.

Which command are you typing, for what post install, and what is the command output?

Re: Avnav setup

Hello mgrouch, I entered the code for timezone and this is what I got back, the MCS app looks to be on the apps list but how do I initialize it? Do I need to go through the set up on the MCS website or since the app is there can I do something else to initialize it? Thank you

Didn’t I sent you a link to change the password?
It tells what default is.

https://bareboat-necessities.github....hange_password

It’s also stated on main page:

https://github.com/bareboat-necessit..._gen#passwords

Kind of hard to miss.
